Available treatments

There are various ways of treating warts: local application of drops or cream, liquid nitrogen, electro-coagulation, curettage, laser, bleomycine or surgery. The most commonly used treatments for warts are:

Cryotherapy

The most common treatment for warts is cryotherapy (treatment based on freezing), as it is used by general practitioners. The wart is touched with liquid nitrogen, which freezes the wart and causes the wart to break down slowly. This treatment is painful and multiple treatments may be needed which brings with it the risk of permanent damage to the skin. The treatment leaves a painful blister or swelling after and may take a  few weeks to heal. In addition, the virus remains active in the skin, which may cause the wart to reoccur. It is recommended that this treatment is only undertaken by a medical professional.

  • Painful treatment
  • Risk of permanent pigment darkening of the skin
  • Swelling, blistering or inflammation occurs often treatment
  • Healing takes several weeks (1-3 weeks)
  • May leave a permanent scar
  • Multiple treatments are often needed (minimum of 2)
  • Virus remains present in the skin
  • Treatment should not be used on face, neck and around nails

Salicyc acid

Treatment of warts with salicylic acid (softening) is a commonly used method. The treatment works by destroying the thickened skin covering the wart. Salicylic acid also affects healthy skin tissue surrounding the wart. It is therefore important that the surrounding skin is covered with a protective gel (e.g. peroleum jelly) before using salicylic acid on the wart. Before repeating the treatment, remove the loosened skin with a file. Salicylic acid is chemical irritant and can cause irritation or hypersensitivity of the skin. The substance is highly flammable, so keep away from flames and other heating sources. Treatment can take many weeks or months to complete, so the risk of damaging the skin is high.

byewart_duo_links.jpgThe alternative: Bye Wart!™

Bye Wart! is a cream based on natural ingredients for painless and effective treatment of warts. Bye Wart! puts a film over the wart, causing the hard skin covering the wart to soften and prevent further infection. Treat the wart until the wart has completely disappeared in order to avoid reoccurrence. Stubborn warts require longer treatment, as they are nestled deep in the skin.

Bye Wart! contains dimethicone which puts a protective film over the wart to further prevent infection. In addition, the skin softens and becomes  elastic, so that essential oils can penetrate deep into the skin. The ingredients of Bye Wart! each have their own way to treat the wart. The essential oils disinfect and promote the recovery of the skin. Thuja and tea tree oils kill the virus and Red pepper stimulates blood circulation of the skin. Urea softens the skin covering the wart and it also moisturizes. The oils also promote the recovery of the skin and prevent scarring.
